According to reports of Danas, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić is mobilizing retired police officers from Kosovo to cause disturbances in Belgrade on March 15. A portion of these individuals has already arrived in the capital, reportedly staying in Pionirski Park in preparation for upcoming events.

Who Are the Recruited Officers?

These individuals were formerly employed by Serbia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) before integrating into the Kosovo Police (KPS). They later left the KPS and were subsequently pensioned by the Serbian state.

Despite their retirement, they continue to receive both pensions and additional financial compensation equivalent to their former KPS salaries. Some former direct KPS employees also receive financial support from Serbia’s state budget.

Financial Incentives for Participation

According to confidential sources, the Serbian government reportedly pays these individuals 100 euros per day for their involvement. Many have allegedly been instructed to remain in Belgrade in the days leading up to the student-led protest on March 15.

The claims raise concerns about potential government-backed disruptions aimed at countering the upcoming demonstrations. However, official confirmation from Serbian authorities has yet to be provided.
