The Chairman of the Albanian National Council in the Presheva Valley, Enkel Rexhepi, has reacted to Serbian military exercises taking place in the municipality of Bujanovc, near the border with the Kosovo, describing them as unacceptable and a provocation against the Albanian population.

In a Facebook post accompanied by photos showing paratroopers in action, Rexhepi stated that the display of force with helicopters and paratroopers in populated areas poses a direct threat to the peace and security of Albanian citizens.

“These actions are unacceptable and dangerous, bringing back a climate of fear and insecurity,” Rexhepi wrote.

He further added that the presence of military bases and the conduct of such exercises create an atmosphere of pressure and intimidation over the Albanian population, directly contributing to increased insecurity and encouraging the displacement of Albanians from these areas.
