Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen met with his Norwegian counterpart in Oslo to discuss the ongoing situation regarding Greenland.

Rasmussen told reporters that the war in Ukraine remains at a critical point, a factor he stressed should not be overlooked during discussions about Greenland.

He further stated that Denmark is trying to convince U.S. President Donald Trump to abandon the idea of taking control of Greenland. Despite Trump’s threats, Rasmussen emphasized that Denmark aims to continue pursuing diplomatic avenues to resolve the issue.

Following meetings this week in Washington with U.S. Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Rasmussen announced the creation of a high-level working group to explore whether a joint solution can be reached. The group is expected to convene for the first time within a few weeks, with the outcome of the Greenland dispute still uncertain.
