Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, speaking at the Munich Security Conference, was asked whether the crisis over Greenland has passed now that negotiations are ongoing between Copenhagen and Washington. She replied that she does not believe this is the case.
“I think the desire of the American president is exactly the same. He is very serious about this,” she said, according to BBC, as reported by News.
Frederiksen also reiterated that it is not possible to put a price on the island and that sovereignty must be respected. She added that the people of Greenland have already signaled that they do not wish to become American.
