The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Kosovo has announced that the deadline for political parties to declare participation in the upcoming October 12, 2025 Local Elections — for Mayors and Municipal Assemblies — officially closed at midnight on Monday.

According to the CEC, during the 15-day window (June 9 – June 23), the following political coalitions submitted requests for certification:

“Koalicija Vakat”, composed of the political parties Demokratska Stranka Bošnjaka (DSB) and Demokratska Stranka Vatan (DSV).

“SDU-NAŠA (NAŠA SDU)”, composed of Socijaldemokratska Unija and Naša Inicijativa, formed specifically for the municipality of Prizren.

Simultaneously, the CEC confirmed that five political parties officially declared they will not participate in the elections:

Organizata Balli Kombëtar Demokrat (OBKD)

Partia Demokratike e Diasporës (PDD)

Partia e Drejtësisë (PD)

Kosovaki Nevi Romani Partia (KNRP)

Partia Balliste (PB)

The CEC has also reminded all eligible political entities — including political parties, coalitions, independent candidates, and civic initiatives — that the application period for certification and candidate list submission will begin on June 26, 2025.
