The deadline for political entities and candidates to submit appeals to the Electoral Complaints and Appeals Panel (PZAP) expires today at 11:00 a.m., ahead of the Central Election Commission (CEC) beginning the certification of election results.

An appeal has already been announced by Igor Simiq, the second most-voted candidate of the Serb List. Simiq has contested the failure to approve his party’s candidate list, following a decision taken on Saturday, when two votes against from the Vetëvendosje Movement and abstentions from the remaining CEC members prevented its approval.

Under the Law on Elections, the PZAP has four days to review submitted appeals. Additionally, within two days of the PZAP’s decision, the parties have the right to appeal to the Supreme Court, which then has three days to issue a final ruling.

Based on these legal deadlines, the final decision could extend until mid-February.
