Until now, no political party has informed the Central Election Commission (CEC) that it will participate in the upcoming local elections on October 12, 2025 through any coalition.
This was announced by the CEC spokesperson, Valmir Elezi.
He explained that the deadline for certification of coalitions is June 23, 2025.
“Currently, political parties are in the period to declare whether they will seek certification to participate in the local elections through a coalition or whether they will not participate in these elections. This period started on June 9 and will end on June 23, 2025. So far, no political party has informed the CEC or the Office for Registration, Certification, and Financial Control of Political Entities that they intend to request certification for participation in elections through a coalition,” Elezi said.
He also noted that only one political party so far, the Democratic National Front Organization (Organizata Balli Kombëtar Demokrat), has informed the CEC that it will not participate in the local elections scheduled for October 12, 2025.
