The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has received a death threat. An anonymous email sent to the official address of the Presidency of Kosovo a few days ago included threats to her life and referred to her as a “criminal and unconstitutional figure.”
Security expert Mentor Vrajolli considers the death threats against President Osmani to be deeply concerning.
According to him, the relevant institutions must immediately launch an investigation to identify the individuals behind the threat.
“It is the responsibility of the justice institutions to investigate the case and determine who made the threat and where the email originated from,” Vrajolli told IndeksOnline.
He also emphasized that police must take immediate measures to ensure the safety of the head of state.
Vrajolli speculated that three possible groups could be behind the threat.
“It is difficult to assume who is behind the threat—it could be someone with mental health issues, individuals involved in politics, or even people outside of politics, such as ‘angry officials,’” said Vrajolli.
He also noted that such threatening language is being fueled by increasingly heated public debates.
It is worth recalling that President Osmani has received previous death threats as well.
