The Commercial Court of Kosovo has suspended the decision of the Energy Regulatory Office (ZRRE) regarding the open electricity market, pending a final judicial ruling.
According to the court document, the suspension was issued following a lawsuit filed by a company (name not disclosed) represented by lawyer Agron Selimaj from Prishtina. The lawsuit contests the ZRRE’s June 3, 2025 decision, which prevented the claimant from accessing electricity supply through the universal service.
The Court’s ruling (dated June 18, 2025) includes the following:
- I. The claimant’s request for provisional security measures is approved as grounded.
- II. The execution of ZRRE’s notification (dated 03.06.2025), which denied the claimant access to the universal energy service, is suspended until a final judicial decision is made.
This means that, for now, the claimant will continue receiving electricity through the universal service, and ZRRE’s attempt to enforce open market conditions on this user has been halted.
