The Basic Court of Pristina has sentenced the accused Lazar Dejanovic, who was charged by the Special Prosecutor’s Office for hooliganism and assault on an official during the violent protests in the north of the country in 2023, to 8 months in prison and a 10,000 euro fine.

The time spent in custody will also be credited to him.

After the parties said that they will not file an appeal regarding the length of the sentence, judge Valon Kurtaj announced the decision on the sentence, which is now final, reports “Oath of Justice”.

The indictment against the defendant Dejanović was filed by the Special Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Kosovo on October 15, 2024.

According to the indictment, on 29.05.2023, near the facility of the Municipality of Zveçan, in coordination with other defendants of Serbian nationality from Kosovo and Serbia, through the use of violence they attacked and seriously threatened the soldiers of the peacekeeping mission of KFOR as well as some members of the Kosovo Police. translate
