During the regular six-month session of the UN Security Council on UNMIK’s report, the Danish representative called on Kosovo to establish the Association of Serb-majority Municipalities, while urging Serbia to refrain from obstructing Kosovo’s membership in international organizations.

“We call on both Serbia and Kosovo to increase their engagement in the EU-facilitated Dialogue,” said Denmark’s representative. “As the newly appointed EU Special Representative for the Dialogue, Mr. Peter Sørensen, clearly stated: ‘It is time to move forward.’

The Danish diplomat emphasized that significant agreements have already been reached through the Dialogue, but that both parties must now focus on implementation.

“According to these agreements, Kosovo must establish the Association of Serb-majority Municipalities, and Serbia must refrain from opposing Kosovo’s membership in international organizations,” he added.

The remarks come amid renewed international efforts to revitalize the EU-led normalization process between Pristina and Belgrade, which has faced repeated setbacks in recent months.
