The Deputy Head of the Kosovo Liberation Army Veterans’ Organization (OVL-UÇK), Gazmend Syla, stated that they were not informed that the Speaker of the Assembly, Dimal Basha, would be visiting Prekaz to pay tribute.
Syla said that had they known in advance, they would have prevented Basha’s visit to Prekaz, as in his view, this represents the greatest insult to the legendary commander, Adem Jashari.
“He secretly went to Prekaz to lay flowers, because otherwise, if we had known, Basha would not have had the chance to place flowers at the grave of our legendary commander Adem Jashari. This is because he has claimed that the Kosovo Liberation Army, which Jashari led, was financed through organized crime and drug trafficking,” Syla stated.
