A serious incident unfolded at a vocational school in Essen, western Germany, where a teacher was stabbed by a student. According to local authorities, the suspected attacker is an 18-year-old from Kosovo, reports Gazeta Sinjali.

The teacher suffered serious abdominal injuries, but is reportedly out of life-threatening danger. No other students or staff were harmed. Investigators believe the teacher was specifically targeted by the attacker.

German media report that the suspect fled immediately after the attack but was later located by police in a park. When officers attempted to arrest him, he charged at them with a knife in his hands, prompting police to open fire. The suspect was shot and is currently being treated in hospital for his injuries.

The incident triggered a large-scale police response, including special forces units, around the school which hosts approximately 1,780 students.

Authorities have not yet released further details about the motive, while investigations remain ongoing.
