Dragan Đilas, president of the Party of Freedom and Justice (SSP), criticized Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić for his response to Marta Kos’s remarks on the recent judicial laws. Kos warned that the laws limit judicial independence and represent a serious step back for Serbia’s EU path. Vučić reportedly said:
“Serbia is not progressing, so it cannot regress.”
Đilas called this statement nonsensical, noting that Serbia is indeed falling behind regional neighbors like Montenegro, Albania, and Moldova. He also denounced controversial land deals with foreign investors, accusing the government of profiting while damaging national assets.
Đilas further criticized the Belgrade airport concession to Vansi, highlighting poor management despite modest passenger growth of 6.6% in 2025, far below regional airports such as Tirana (48%) and Budapest (33%). He described the airport facilities as substandard, poorly maintained, and overpriced.
