Kosovo held its parliamentary elections in February 2025, yet the year may easily end without a new government being formed.

Glauk Konjufca, Deputy Chairman of the Vetëvendosje Movement (LVV), has a deadline until November 19 to present to the Assembly the proposed composition of the new government

to test whether he can secure the necessary votes to establish a new executive.

On the day he was appointed as the prime minister-designate, Konjufca urged other political parties to set aside their political grudges and vote for a transitional government that would function until April next year, when the mandate of the current President Vjosa Osmani expires. However, the major Albanian political parties made it clear that they would not support such a proposal.

Konjufca is the second LVV nominee, following party leader Albin Kurti, to attempt to form a new government.

Although Vetëvendosje won the largest share of votes in the early 2025 elections, it did not secure enough seats in the Assembly to form a government on its own.
