Yesterday, Ilire Dauti, a member of the opposition Alliance for Albanians in the North Macedonia Parliament, reacted to what she described as a violation of the Law on the Use of Languages. Dauti criticized the fact that parliamentary session materials were not provided in Albanian.
Speaking on Kosova Live, she said the situation reflects an attempt to intimidate the Albanian population.
“Their behavior is an attempt to belittle Albanian citizens. It is an attempt to frighten them. This cannot be tolerated in parliament because it is our duty to uphold our principles and laws, and the Law on Languages is fundamental,” Dauti stated on T7.
Her comments highlight ongoing tensions regarding minority rights and the implementation of official language laws in North Macedonia.
