The humanitarian organization Doctors Without Borders (MSF) has strongly condemned the Israeli military-controlled food distribution system in Gaza, calling it a form of “institutionalized hatred” and “organized killing.”
In a newly released report titled “This Is Not Aid. This Is Organized Killing,” MSF is urging for an immediate halt to this method of distributing humanitarian assistance.
According to the report, two aid distribution centers in Rafah, southern Gaza, have turned into scenes of chaos, marked by violent clashes, panicked crowds, and the lethal use of force by Israeli troops and American private contractors.
“Nowhere else in any conflict zone where we operate have we witnessed this level of violence against civilians simply seeking help,” the organization stated.
MSF’s clinics have been overwhelmed, turning into emergency trauma centers. In June and July alone, two clinics reported receiving 1,380 wounded individuals and 28 dead bodies.
Many of the wounded are suffering from gunshot wounds, with injuries mostly located in the lower limbs, indicating what MSF describes as intentional targeting.
The report further highlights frequent incidents of physical violence, use of tear gas, and pepper spray against unarmed civilians waiting for aid.
“People are being shot like animals,” said one of MSF’s field coordinators.
“These are not militants. They are unarmed civilians carrying plastic bags, just hoping to get a bit of flour or pasta.”
Doctors Without Borders is calling on the international community to intervene and reassess all humanitarian frameworks operating under military control, stressing that aid should never be weaponized or used as a tool of repression.
