Milorad Dodik, the president of the Republika Srpska in Bosnia and Herzegovina, has been outside the country since last Monday.
He initially traveled to Belgrade to attend the NATO bombing anniversary commemoration with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić. Later, Dodik flew to Israel, but after some unpleasant situations, he returned to Belgrade aboard the Republika Srpska government plane.
Three hours past midnight on Saturday, Dodik posted on social media platform X, saying “I have arrived,” but it is still unclear where he was.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina court issued an international arrest warrant for Dodik, and Interpol’s approval of the arrest warrant is awaited.
According to the prosecution, Dodik and Nenad Stevandić, leveraging their high positions in the Republika Srpska unit, crossed the border illegally and left Bosnia.
The situation has caused heightened tensions, threatening the stability of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Security experts warn of the possibility of armed clashes if Dodik is arrested.
