Milorad Dodik, the President of Republika Srpska (RS), has been summoned by the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) as a suspect in an investigation related to the purchase of a villa in Dedinje, Belgrade. This was confirmed by the BiH Prosecutor’s Office. According to reports, Dodik has been invited to appear before the Prosecutor’s Office on April 2, 2025.
Dodik was previously questioned in March 2022 regarding the villa purchase, but an indictment against him could not be raised until further examination of the details presented by the BiH Prosecutor’s Office. He is suspected of committing criminal offenses such as money laundering, accepting gifts and other benefits, and abuse of office.
Dodik bought the villa on Dedinje on May 14, 2007, for 750,000 euros. Although he claimed to have financed the purchase through a loan from the Pavlović Bank in Bijeljina, it was later revealed that he only took out the loan a year later, on June 27, 2008. The loan request was notarized with the seal of the RS government, which he led at the time.
The villa had previously been rented by the Israeli Embassy, but they vacated the property in early January 2018. Experts have appraised the villa, built in 2005, at 1.26 million euros.
