President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, issued a direct threat to EUFOR commander Florin-Marian Barbo during a press conference in Banja Luka.
Dodik accused the Romanian general of trying to advance his career through “threats and demonstrations,” dismissing EUFOR’s military presence as ineffective. He warned, “Tanks are useless. I don’t think he has an answer for cannons to the head.”
Dodik further stated that EUFOR could deploy up to 10,000 troops but warned them to “stay within their mandate,” claiming that Serbs would not tolerate what he called an “occupation.”
Additionally, Dodik announced plans to ask Russia to veto the extension of EUFOR’s mandate in Bosnia and Herzegovina, arguing that the mission was being misused against Serbs.
