The President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, has urged U.S. President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance to prevent any NATO intervention in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and to help overturn decisions imposed by the Biden administration.

In an interview with The American Conservative, Dodik emphasized that his goal is to restore the original interpretation of the Dayton Peace Agreement.

“We do not want war, we want peace. We are fighting for our human rights through democratic means. Help us annul all illegitimate and undemocratic decisions forced upon us by President Joe Biden’s administration,” said Dodik.

According to Srpskainfo, Dodik argued that Trump and Vance could play a crucial role in ensuring respect for the Dayton Agreement.

“If an agreement cannot be reached with Bosnian Muslims, there is no reason why all three nations—Croats, Muslims, and Serbs—cannot begin a dialogue on a peaceful, non-violent dissolution of BiH,” he added.

Dodik also reiterated his readiness to engage with the new U.S. administration in discussions about Bosnia’s future and the challenges it faces.

Furthermore, he accused Bosniaks of attempting to impose their rule on the Christian majority in the country and dismissed recent U.S. State Department criticisms as being driven by “deep state bureaucrats.”

His remarks come amid legal and political tensions in BiH, as the Constitutional Court recently annulled several laws passed by Republika Srpska authorities, citing violations of the country’s constitutional order.
