The Supreme Public Prosecutor’s Office announced today that Zagorka Dolovac, Serbia’s Supreme Public Prosecutor, has once again invited representatives of the student protest to a meeting to discuss the realization of their demands.

The announcement follows the receipt of a formal request from students who gathered outside the prosecutor’s headquarters in Belgrade on December 25, 2024.

A representative of the assembled students was informed that their demands would be reviewed promptly and that Prosecutor Dolovac was ready to meet with a student delegation the same day to provide responses to their submitted requests.

However, the student representative informed the office that the protesters were unable to form a delegation at this time. They committed to notifying the prosecutor’s office about the timing and composition of their delegation following plenary sessions to be held at their respective faculties.

The prosecutor’s office emphasized its commitment to constitutional and legal responsibilities, stating, “We fully adhere to our obligations and will continue to do so with utmost attention, especially regarding the students’ demands.”

Student Demands
During the protest outside the Supreme Public Prosecutor’s headquarters, students called for:

  1. The release of all documentation related to the reconstruction of Novi Sad’s railway station.
  2. The prosecution of individuals involved in attacks on students during earlier protests.
  3. The withdrawal of all misdemeanor and criminal charges against students for participating in protests.

The student movement has expressed its intention to organize further discussions at faculty plenums to ensure unified representation in future dialogues with state institutions.
