The start of the second semester in all schools in Drenas has been postponed until January 14, following a decision by Mayor Ramiz Lladrovci.
The municipality cited floods, snow, frost, and disruptions in drinking water supply in some areas as reasons for the temporary suspension of all preschool and school-level education.
“This decision has been made to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and school staff. Emergency teams and other local institutions are committed to normalizing the situation, in cooperation with the Kosovo Police, citizens, and companies throughout the municipality,” the announcement states.
The municipality also assured that it will continue to update the public promptly about any new developments.
