At least 12 people were killed and seven others injured in a Russian drone attack near a bus in eastern Ukraine, local authorities reported.
The incident occurred in the Pavlohrad district, according to Oleksandr Ganzha, head of the regional military administration. In a Telegram post, Ganzha stated that authorities are investigating the circumstances of the attack, which took place during an air raid alert in the area. The energy company DTEK confirmed that the bus was transporting its workers from a local mine.
Additional drone attacks have been reported in other parts of Ukraine. At least nine people were injured early Sunday, including six at a maternity hospital in Zaporizhzhia, where two women were undergoing medical examinations when the strike occurred.
Authorities also reported three fatalities in separate attacks in southern Kherson and the central city of Dnipro.
The attacks underscore the ongoing risks for civilians amid the continuing conflict in Ukraine.
