The Kosovo Customs Service has seized undeclared goods, narcotic substances, and ammunition during multiple operations over the past weekend, the agency announced in an official statement.

Undeclared Textile Seized at Hani i Elezit

At the Hani i Elezit Border Crossing, customs officers uncovered around 180 kilograms of undeclared textile material in an international transport vehicle passing through transit. The goods were confiscated for further investigation.

Luxury Watches Found at Pristina International Airport

At the Pristina International Airport, routine baggage checks revealed two “Rolex” wristwatches that had not been declared in accordance with customs regulations. The items were seized for verification, and misdemeanor procedures were initiated under Law No. 08/L-247 on the Customs and Excise Code of Kosovo.

Narcotics and Ammunition Found at Vërmicë

During a joint operation with the Border Police, customs officers at the Vërmicë–Morina border point intercepted a foreign national carrying 11.1 grams of suspected narcotic substance hidden in a jacket. The suspect was detained for 48 hours by order of the competent prosecutor’s office.

In a separate incident, officers discovered around 100 pairs of undeclared shoes in a vehicle entering Kosovo. The driver failed to present proper documentation, prompting the initiation of a customs offense procedure and temporary seizure of goods.

In another control at the same crossing, customs agents found a box containing 50 rounds of 9mm ammunition hidden beneath a spare tire, along with a cigarette filled with suspected marijuana (0.58 grams). Both the ammunition and drugs were confiscated, and the case was referred for further investigation.

Kosovo Customs Reinforces Law Enforcement

Kosovo Customs reaffirmed its commitment to law enforcement and border integrity, emphasizing that these operations are part of ongoing efforts to prevent smuggling, drug trafficking, and illegal activities that threaten the country’s economic and public security.

“Kosovo Customs continues its dedicated work in enforcing the law and securing the borders of the Republic of Kosovo, preventing all forms of contraband and illicit activity,” the agency said in a statement.
