In the Artana mine, work on extracting minerals could have serious consequences one day.

There was a flooding inside the mine, which did not occur due to atmospheric rainfall.

Blerim Ymeri, from the Independent Trade Union of Mines with Flotation from Kishnica and Artana, explained that the flooding caused some minor injuries to people.

“There were no major injuries, just some light injuries from people panicking. There were damages, but not too much. The cafeteria and changing rooms were flooded, but not excessively,” emphasized Blerim Ymeri from the Independent Trade Union of Mines with Flotation from Kishnica and Artana.

Ymeri explained how the flooding occurred.

“This has nothing to do with atmospheric rainfall. There were collapses in the mine, water accumulated, and then, as the workers were extracting the ore, the water burst out,” he explained.

Meanwhile, a day later, the consequences are still noticeable.

The main damage is visible in the mine’s infrastructure, particularly in some roads that are now difficult to pass.

The consequences are also noticeable almost up to the main road.

As a result of this flooding, a video published by photographer Arian Mavriqi shows the condition of the river, which has turned a completely different color than usual, characterized by clear water. /RTVDukagjini/
