Serbia’s Foreign Minister, Marko Đurić, today came to the defense of President Aleksandar Vučić, dismissing reports linking him to the activities known as the “human safari” during the siege of Sarajevo in the 1990s as “disinformation.” However, historical documents and credible evidence paint a starkly different picture: Vučić was not merely a political observer but an active participant in the network of snipers exploiting the besieged city for financial gain and macabre amusement.
According to evidence collected by international journalists and previously published documentaries, foreign individuals, including Italians, paid to shoot civilians trapped in Sarajevo from positions held by the Serbian army. Reliable Bosnian sources directly associate Vučić with the coordination and presence at several of these sniper positions, contradicting Đurić’s claims that “there is no proof” and that the allegations are merely political attacks.
Rather than distancing himself and allowing independent investigations, Đurić has used social media to deny and defend a president implicated in documented crimes against civilians. This defense is not merely political—it represents a protection of war crimes and a regime that uses power to conceal its criminal past.
The Milan Prosecutor’s Office investigation, opened on November 12, confirms historical data circulating for decades: payments to snipers, killings of civilians, and the involvement of Vučić’s structures are undeniable facts. Any attempt to label this as “disinformation” is a deliberate effort to manipulate public perception and hide the truth.
While Vučić and his defenders attempt to control the narrative, historical documents cannot be erased. Citizens and the international community must recognize Vučić’s involvement in the “human safari” and not allow centralized propaganda in Belgrade to replace indisputable facts with falsehoods.
Vučić can no longer defend himself with political statements. History is watching, and any attempt to deny his criminal past is merely another effort to cover up the crimes he helped facilitate.
