A tragic accident unfolded this morning off the coast near Shkëmbi i Kavajës, where two tourists from Ghana, residing in the UK, fell into the sea while riding a Jet Ski. The incident occurred around 11:15 AM, reportedly due to loss of control during maneuvers, according to Gazeta Sinjali.
A Border Police patrol boat responded swiftly, rescuing both individuals and transporting them to Durrës Port, where a medical team was on standby.
Despite the efforts, 34-year-old S.O. was pronounced dead, while his companion, 31-year-old V.B., is currently hospitalized in critical condition, suffering from shock, as reported by Top Channel.
The body of the deceased has been sent to Tirana’s morgue for autopsy. Authorities have launched a special investigative team to determine the circumstances of the accident.
