A total of €95,684,279.00 has been allocated to the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development of Kosovo from the overall 2026 budget of the Kosovo, which amounts to €4 billion.
Key Budget Allocations
- €71,530,000.00 dedicated to Direct Payments and the Rural Development Program
- €3,000,000.00 allocated for the sub-program “Natural Damages in Agriculture”
Within the sector’s total budget:
- €4,706,160 has been allocated to the Kosovo Forest Agency
- €5,252,981 to the Food and Veterinary Agency of Kosovo
- €1,137,830 to the Agricultural Institute of Kosovo
These allocations aim to ensure institutional strengthening and the effective functioning of key agro-rural sector bodies.
Implementation Framework
In accordance with the 2026 Budget Law, the responsible minister is authorized to implement subsidy and grant schemes for the 2026 Rural Development Program and the 2026 Direct Payments Program through a sub-legal act, in line with budget allocations and Article 12 of the Budget Law.
The annual program will be implemented in harmony with Law No. 08/L-072 on Agriculture and Rural Development, aiming to:
- Increase production and productivity
- Strengthen competitiveness
- Protect natural resources
- Improve quality of life in rural areas
The funding represents a continued commitment to sustainable agricultural development and rural economic growth in Kosovo.
