Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted to the passing of Bujar Bukoshi, remembering him as “a good Albanian, a refined politician, and a sensitive man,” Reporteri.net writes.

Rama extended his heartfelt condolences to Bukoshi’s family and to all of Kosovo. “Rest in peace. Deepest condolences to the family and Kosovo for the loss of a good Albanian, a refined politician, and a sensitive man like Bujar Bukoshi,” Rama wrote.

Bujar Bukoshi, former Prime Minister of Kosovo in exile and a significant figure in the country’s political history, passed away on Tuesday at the age of 78. Reports indicate he had been suffering from an unspecified serious illness.

Kosovo’s President, Vjosa Osmani, also paid tribute, describing Bukoshi as “a doctor with vision and a statesman with unparalleled dedication.” “His contribution as a doctor, intellectual, and political leader has left indelible marks on building our path towards freedom and independence,” Osmani stated in a press release from the Presidency.

Bukoshi, a physician, urologist, and university professor, served as Prime Minister of Kosovo in exile from 1991 to 1999.
