The United Union of Education, Science, and Culture (SBAShK) has warned of a potential strike and other union measures if dialogue with the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology does not begin by September 20, 2025, ahead of the new school year.

In a live interview on the program “Gazeta”, SBAShK Vice President Vjollca Shala stated that the union is awaiting the formation of new government institutions. While she did not rule out union actions, including a strike, she emphasized the union’s readiness for dialogue once institutions are established.

“Until these responsible institutions are formed, we have no one to address our demands to. Our requests are directed at the Ministry of Education, but the responsible institutions are not yet in place. SBAShK is actively engaged, and once the institutions are formed, we are ready for meetings and dialogue to resolve the legitimate demands of education workers. Naturally, we do not rule out union actions or strikes,” Shala said.
