Over 25,000 soldiers from 29 countries will take part in the largest international military exercise — Defender Europe.
Kosovo will host this major exercise led by the United States Army Europe and Africa Command. The armed forces of Albania, Croatia, North Macedonia, and Bulgaria will also participate in the multi-day military drills.
“Defender Europe” will last until June 9, with exercises primarily taking place in Gjakova.
“During this period, there will be movement of military convoys from Kosovo Security Force bases toward the Gjakova region, specifically to the Gjakova Airport and the military training area in Babaj i Bokës,” the announcement stated.
According to the Ministry of Defense,
“Through the execution of this exercise, the Kosovo Security Force will demonstrate its operational readiness and the level of combat interoperability with partner and regional countries, including the United States, Albania, Croatia, North Macedonia, and Bulgaria.”
