Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi declared that today’s agreements on Gaza “open the door to a new era of peace and security in the Middle East.”
He emphasized that “the end of the war in Gaza must mark the end of all wars in the region,” adding that Egypt will host a summit dedicated to the reconstruction of Gaza.
Sisi further stated that a two-state solution remains “the only way to fulfill the aspirations of both the Palestinian and Israeli peoples to bring an end to the conflict.”
“Peace is not made by countries and states, but by people who are convinced that yesterday’s enemies are today’s friends,” he said.
While introducing President Donald Trump to the stage, Sisi added:
“I would like to highly commend President Trump’s efforts.”
