The Speaker of the Albanian Parliament, Elisa Spiropali, has reacted following the massive protest held in Prishtina, where citizens voiced their support for the former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) and condemned what they described as injustice by the Special Court in The Hague.
In a post on Facebook, Spiropali described the protest as an expression of “deep pan-Albanian indignation over historical injustice.”
She reaffirmed her full support for the former KLA leaders, stating that they are being held in The Hague “in violation of every legal and human standard.”
“The massive protest in Prishtina reaffirmed the deep pan-Albanian indignation toward historical injustice, as well as support for the former KLA leaders, who, in violation of every legal, international, moral, logical, and human standard, are being kept imprisoned in the cells of The Hague; an act against justice, against freedom, and an abuse of the sovereignty of an independent and democratic state,” Spiropali wrote.
