A “critical night” looms for Vetëvendosje (VV) and its leader, Albin Kurti. Just hours before the Assembly session for electing the new Speaker, the election-winning party appears to have lost a key vote.
Sources from Rks News report that Emilia Redzepi, a Bosniak MP, has decided not to support VV’s candidate for Speaker of the Assembly.
Redžepi is reportedly deeply displeased with a recent agreement reached between Kurti and Duda Balje, which allegedly involves offering Balje a ministerial position in return for her support.
When contacted, Redzepi did not deny the claims.
“There is something to this. You’ll see more clearly tomorrow,” she stated briefly.
Should Redzepi, along with her Bosniak party, withhold support, Kurti will not have the necessary votes to elect the Speaker — regardless of the political arithmetic.
