The son of former President Hashim Thaçi, Endrit Thaçi, spoke at the memorial meeting held in honor of his grandfather, Haxhi Thaçi, who will be buried today, as reported by Rks News.

He thanked everyone for their support and also mentioned the pain that Hashim Thaçi was not allowed to be in Kosovo.

“Grandfather never gave up in the face of illness. The hope of meeting my father was greater than the pain of the illnesses. The belief was greater than the unjust indictment. In his final months, every hour he waited to open the hospital door, he didn’t give up and returned to life for several days. Three hours that day were worth a lifetime. Both of them sought freedom, liberation. I saw my grandfather’s sudden death on my father’s face when he left the hospital.

He survived all the suffering, but he could not survive the pain of injustice in these last four years. An incurable disease for strong people. To die without harvesting, as he used to say. Grandfather, even today, we haven’t harvested. They didn’t allow my father to say his final farewell, they didn’t let him throw a handful of soil from Drenica, but instead of my father, today Kosovo, Albania, North Macedonia, and the Presevo Valley have come,” said Endrit Thaçi.
