The 15% increase in electricity tariffs, which was expected to take effect today, April 1st, has not yet occurred.
Ymer Fejzullahu, Chairman of the Board of the Energy Regulatory Office (ZRRE), stated to Klan that the final decision will be made on April 11th.
“No, the decision has not been made yet. The current tariffs remain in effect. The decision is expected to be made on April 11th. Depending on how the board decides, the tariffs may come into force retroactively from April 1st or May 1st, which is also the billing period, as it doesn’t make sense for this to happen in the middle of the month,” said Fejzullahu.
He added that comments submitted by institutions and other stakeholders are currently being reviewed.
Meanwhile, the announcement of the energy price hike has sparked significant reactions and dissatisfaction among citizens and businesses.
For this reason, a protest is planned for April 5th in Pristina.
