One day before the deadline for temporary electricity supply through the Last Resort Supplier (FMF) ends, the Energy Regulatory Office (ZRRE) has issued an urgent call to commercial consumers to enter the free market without delay, warning that electricity disconnections will begin tomorrow, as the guaranteed supply through FMF will no longer be legally valid.

ZRRE stated that the process of opening the electricity market has been conducted in full compliance with existing legislation, in a transparent and impartial manner, respecting all procedural and material standards.

According to the regulator, the legality of this process is being consistently confirmed by competent courts, affirming that all steps taken are aligned with the applicable laws of the Republic of Kosovo.

“All commercial consumers who have met the criteria for transition to the open market are obliged to be supplied by a licensed supplier. The temporary supply through the Last Resort Supplier (FMF) ends today, on 30 July 2025, and the 60-day guaranteed transitional supply period is defined by law and cannot be extended through administrative decisions,” ZRRE stated.

The regulatory authority is urging all commercial consumers to immediately select a licensed supplier, as listed on ZRRE’s official website, emphasizing that from tomorrow, those without a commercial supply contract will be subject to power disconnections.

ZRRE reiterated its commitment to ensuring a fair, functional, and competitive electricity market, serving consumers in full compliance with national legislation and European standards.
