Serbian flags placed along the main road in Gracanica were removed this morning by workers of a private Albanian company, accompanied by the Kosovo Police.
According to the mayor of the municipality, Novak Živić, the removal was carried out based on a decision issued by Minister Elbert Krasniqi.
The action reflects the enforcement of institutional authority and legal standards in public spaces, emphasizing that unauthorized symbols cannot be placed without proper approval under Kosovo’s legal framework.
Meanwhile, Živić stated that he will initiate a proposal in the Municipal Assembly of Gračanica to adopt a formal decision regarding the placement of Serbian flags in the municipality.
