Novi Sad, Serbia – Engineer Zoran Đajić has confirmed that he has been called as a witness by the Basic Court in Novi Sad in relation to the tragic collapse of the roof canopy at the Novi Sad Railway Station, which resulted in the deaths of 15 people and left two others seriously injured.

Đajić, who worked as a consultant for the CIP Institute on the reconstruction of the railway station until March 2023, was the first to raise concerns about the poor quality of the construction work and to refute claims made by the authorities that the canopy was not part of the reconstruction plans.

Corruption at the Top of the State
Speaking about the incident, Đajić expressed his belief that the collapse was a result of a criminal organization operating at the highest levels of the Serbian government. He emphasized that this organization was responsible for the deaths of 15 individuals. “A murder of 15 people was committed under the organization of the Serbian state. I will testify in court to present my knowledge, as someone who participated in the reconstruction work at the Railway Station. The collapse of the canopy and the death of 15 citizens is the result of a corrupt criminal organization starting from the top of the state, led by Aleksandar Vučić, with accomplices such as Miloš Vučević, Tomislav Momirović, Goran Vesić, Maja Gojković, and many others who were involved in this criminal association for material gain through incompetent and poor-quality work at the Railway Station,” Đajić stated.

Đajić added that he hopes his testimony will contribute to preventing such crimes from happening again and ensure that those responsible for the criminal association are appropriately punished.
