Former President of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo and current professor of Law and International Relations at the University of Pristina, Enver Hasani, stated that the Kosovo Assembly is not blocked and can convene every 48 hours, despite the deputies’ failure to constitute the institution.
In an interview with Radio Free Europe, Hasani described as a political mistake the decision by the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) to not vote on the report of the Commission for the Verification of Mandates.
These parties have questioned the validity of the resignations submitted by Albin Kurti and other government members who have been elected as deputies. However, Hasani argues that once they take the oath as MPs, they are legally prohibited from holding any executive office.
