Opposition protesters stopped in front of the former residence of communist-era dictator Enver Hoxha, located in the Ish-Blloku area of the capital.

The situation escalated when protesters threw Molotov cocktails and fireworks toward the house, which was briefly engulfed in flames, according to Panorama.

Footage circulating from the scene appears to show a person inside the building at the time of the attack, reportedly believed to be an employee. The health condition of the individual remains unknown.

At the moment the Molotov cocktail was thrown, police were reportedly not present at the scene. Shortly afterward, a water cannon vehicle arrived and sprayed water in an effort to disperse the protesters.

Authorities have not yet released an official statement regarding possible injuries or arrests.
