Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a phone call on Friday with U.S. President Donald Trump.
According to Turkey’s Directorate of Communications on the NSosyal platform, the two leaders discussed bilateral relations and the situation in Gaza. Erdogan stressed to Trump that halting Israeli attacks is decisive for efforts to establish peace in the region.
During the conversation, Erdogan highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation between Turkey and the U.S. in all areas, particularly in the defense industry. He recalled his visit to Washington last week, where he held a two-hour meeting with Trump, emphasizing that this further reinforced Ankara–Washington relations.
Erdogan added that Turkey is making intensive efforts to secure peace and stability in the region, especially in Gaza, and welcomed any initiative aimed at achieving that goal. He also underlined that Turkey has accelerated its diplomatic efforts and will continue to contribute to regional peace.
