Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan commented on Hamas’s announcement that it would accept parts of U.S. President Trump’s peace plan.
“We welcome the American president’s plan,” Erdogan told a crowd at a ceremony in Istanbul. He emphasized that Hamas’s response shows it is ready for peace.
Erdogan added that a “window of opportunity” has opened to establish sustainable peace in the region.
He also urged Israel to halt its military operations in Gaza and called on all parties involved in the conflict to act responsibly to achieve peace as quickly as possible.
