Erdogan meets Balkan chief diplomats, Gërvalla and Spiropali also present – Turkish Presidency provides details

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has hosted a joint meeting with senior foreign policy representatives from the Balkan region, including Kosovo’s Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Donika Gërvalla and Albania’s Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Elisa Spiropali.

In a statement, the Turkish Presidency said that this was the second meeting of foreign ministers within the framework of the Balkan Peace Platform.

The announcement noted that the meeting was also attended by the foreign ministers of Montenegro, Serbia, North Macedonia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“President Recep Tayyip Erdogan received Albania’s Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Elisa Spiropali; Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmedin Konaković; Montenegro’s Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ervin Ibrahimović; Kosovo’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora Donika Gërvalla-Schwarz; the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of North Macedonia; as well as Serbia’s State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nevena Jovanović.

They are in Istanbul for the Second Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Balkan Peace Platform and were received at the Dolmabahçe Presidential Office,” the Turkish Presidency said.
