Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he does not intend to run again for president, adding that the country needs a new constitution.
“I do not intend to be re-elected or run again for president. We care only about improving our country’s reputation. Turkey is changing; the world is changing. We are living in a new era.
Do you think we can achieve anything in a world that changes so quickly with a constitution created during a coup in the old Turkey that still retains a coup mentality? Turkey can no longer move forward with a constitution written by coup plotters. We need a constitution proposed by civilians, not by coup conspirators,” Erdogan said, Anadolu news agency reported.
