The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, arrived in Tirana to attend the sixth Summit of the European Political Community, where he was received by Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, reports RKS News.
Accompanied by part of his cabinet, Erdogan held a brief meeting with Rama, during which there were also spontaneous moments: the Turkish president jokingly pointed out the sneakers worn by his Albanian counterpart. Rama walked Erdogan halfway and then returned.
In a media statement, Erdogan expressed optimism about the outcome of the summit, emphasizing the significance of the event taking place in Albania.
“This is exactly what we expected. We are looking forward to many things with my Albanian brother. From Albania, the whole world will hear the voice of peace,” Erdogan declared in Turkish.
