The Energy Regulatory Office (ERO) has confirmed to RTV21 that the decision on new electricity tariffs will be taken in March, with the new tariffs expected to enter into force in April.

ERO stated that applications for allowed revenues from licensed operators and suppliers are expected to be submitted during the month of January.

“ERO informs the public that the electricity tariff review process is conducted in several regulatory phases. Applications for allowed revenues from licensed operators and suppliers are expected to be submitted during the third week of January 2026, after which ERO will carry out the regulatory review. The final decision on tariffs is expected in March 2026, while the implementation of the new tariffs will begin in April 2026, in accordance with the applicable legal framework,” ERO said.

Currently, consumers who use up to 800 kilowatt-hours of electricity per month pay 9.05 euro cents per kilowatt-hour, up from 7.79 euro cents last year. Meanwhile, consumers who use more than 800 kilowatt-hours per month pay 15.43 euro cents per kilowatt-hour, compared to 13.29 euro cents last year.

From May, electricity consumers are expected to receive their bills reflecting the new tariffs, which are set to enter into force in April 2026.
