Admiral Stuart B. Munsch of the U.S. Navy, commander of the Allied Joint Force Command in Naples—which oversees KFOR—stated that the alliance remains concerned about the risk of recurring violence in the unstable north.
“Political rhetoric can inspire some non-governmental forces to commit acts of violence, as happened last year,” Munsch told reporters in Pristina.
“I wouldn’t say that conflict is definitely coming, but I think there is a persistent risk,” he said, referring to the lack of progress in EU-mediated talks between the Kosovo government and Serbia.
