The eruption of Mount Etna has forced the closure of two airspaces at Catania Airport, as authorities work to manage the impact of volcanic ash in the atmosphere.

According to the airport’s management company, airspace closures will remain in effect until 19:30, while flight arrivals at Catania Airport are suspended until 22:30 due to airborne volcanic ash.

Meanwhile, international reports confirm that Comiso Airport has resumed operations after a temporary shutdown caused by strong winds.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation, as further disruptions to air traffic remain possible.
